MY REASONS WHY
I am Lili St. Christopher, better known as Silver Lining Lili. I founded the College Bound Village (CBV) Facebook Group on May 3, 2019, as a 46th birthday gift to myself and to honor my 18 year-old, high school senior, Lorne II. My family was blessed when our son earned several scholarships, including a full-ride to the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL). He also received the Level 7, Air Force ROTC, full-tuition scholarship and is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Thus, the College Bound Village was born, because it not only takes a village to raise a child, it also takes one to find money for college, locate summer internships and navigate the FASFA. My journey continues, as I work with my daughter, Laila, who is now a high school freshman. Her goals and dreams are polar opposite of her brother. However, I am confident her collegiate path will be successful with the help of the Village.
HELLO VILLAGE!
The entire process was tedious, confusing and time consuming. We spent many late nights trying to figure things out and which options were the best fit for Lorne’s secondary education. Therefore, in an effort to alleviate the stress and fears for other parents and aspiring college students, I created a a space for global knowledge sharing, and access to college resources and information.
